This is a wonderful song arranged by Basil Henriques. I've tabbed out the parts to Basil's excellent video, BEYOND THE REEF on the A7th pedal steel guitar. Basil explains the chords to the song in this video. I tried to be as accurate as possible. I am grateful to Basil for sharing his unique tuning with others, so we can learn to play this marvellous tuning. This tuning (see below) is superb for playing Hawaiian steel guitar. Enjoy!

*Below. I played this a little different than the video because I just couldn't' figure this part out. It

sounds like Basil is only raising string 1 here, but not string 2; yet it is obvious from the rest of the

song that he is indeed raising strings 1 and 2 a whole tone with pedal 3. I can hear string 1 raised a

whole tone and then string 2 lowered by pedal 4, and then string 3 after letting string 1 return to pitch;

but I don't know how Basil got that 2nd string to work without it raising. I'm baffled on this one. I recorded

a different version of the song where I only raise string 1 a whole tone with pedal 6 on my Fender 400.

Note that in the preceding video that I get that pretty sound at 3:18-3:19 by only raising string 1 a whole tone

(not string 2 as pedal 2 does). I have an extra pedal (pedal 6 on my Fender 400). Since I don't have an extra

pedal or knee to spare on my ShoBud, you won't hear this music piece on my ShoBud. As you can hear, the

Pro-II ShoBud has great harmonics!
