NOTE: The preceding rhythm track is a little bit flat of the key of C, so I just use strings 5 and 6 at the 5th fret instead, which is the same chord as strings 2 and 3 on fret zero, i.e., open. One of the great things about playing the lap steel is that you can easily compensate if the rhythm track is out of tune, or the band goes south if someone opens the side door and cold air hits their instruments. You can easily compensate by simply sliding the bar up or down a little bit on the fretboard. There are very few instruments that you can do this with. The lap steel is an awesome musical instrument!

By transposing the above tabs up 2 frets, i.e., into the key of D, you can use the following rhythm track of the same song in D. I originally only had the song in the key of C, which is not my preferred choice; I like playing this particular song in D. Thanks to a nifty little program called MixCraft 5.1, I was able to change the key of the song and even slow it down for my tastes. So the 2nd track below is the one I always use. Have fun and cheer somebody up with your music!
